Branching

You'd use this when you're not sure if the route you're thinking of taking is correct. You click select the 'Branch' function:

which kind of sets a 'marker' and records the current state of the puzzle. This is the point to which you will be returned if you choose to reject your branch.

You then play the puzzle as usual, until such time as you're sure the branch you've taken is right or wrong. You then select the 'Accept' or 'Reject' functions:

If you 'Accept', the marker is removed, and you lose the ability to jump back to your starting point.
If you 'Reject', the marker is removed, but the puzzle is restored to the state it was in when branching began.
You can think of Branching like multiple undo, really.

While branching is active, Big Numbers that you place will be displayed in a different colour, according to the colour preferences you've specified.
