Squirmbag
A Squirmbag is a fish with 5 rows and 5 columns.
Squirmbag in the rows
When all candidates for a particular digit in 5 rows are located in only 5 columns, we can eliminate all candidates from those 5 columns which are not located on those 5 rows.Squirmbag in the columns
When all candidates for a particular digit in 5 columns are located in only 5 rows, we can eliminate all candidates from those 5 rows which are not located on those 5 columns.
Each of the defining lines can have 2, 3, 4 or 5 candidates, but together they cover 5 of the crossing lines.
In a standard Sudoku, a Squirmbag is always complemented by a smaller fish, because there are only 9 rows and columns. Some players prefer to look for fish in the rows only. They may find a Squirmbag in the rows, where others find the complementary X-Wing, Swordfish or Jellyfish in the columns.
